Professor White has been at TTU since 1973. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and his Master of Architecture from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
He is a Fellow of Historic American Buildings Survey Foundation and has supervised more HABS summer teams than any other individual associated with that program. He spent 25 years as a summer HABS Project Supervisor. Among the many HABS projects he has supervised are the surveys and measured drawings of San Antonio Missions National Historical Park; Lyndon Baines Johnson National Historic Park; the Texas State Capitol; the Maryland State House; Castillo El Morro in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico; Melrose Plantation and William Johnson House National Historic Park in Natchez, Mississippi; Scotty’s Castle in Death Valley National Park; Quaker Meeting Houses in Pennsylvania and New Jersey; the Grand Canyon Lodge at North Rim Grand Canyon; and the Mark Twain Memorial House and Carriage House in Hartford, Connecticut. He has also documented several historic ranches in the Plains-Panhandle region of Texas, including the JA Ranch, Charles Goodnight Ranch House, Harold Dow Bugbee Ranch House; George Washington’s Sleeping Tent at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania; and the Statue of Liberty.
